From Victim To Survivor: One Woman’s Journey To Overcoming Human Trafficking

For a long time, I struggled with feeling inadequate and wishing I could be someone else. I endured rough patches and encountered hurtful people, which only reinforced my desire to escape my reality. But when I crossed paths with the Rescue Us team, my life took a dramatic turn.

Being part of the Rescue Us community for over a year has taught me the importance of treating others with love and respect, even when life is challenging. I’ve learned to “do no harm” not just to others, but to myself as well.

Through Rescue Us, I discovered a passion for cooking, and I was thrilled to be invited to a cooking class. Despite my initial lack of knowledge, I was eager to learn and improve my skills. And with the class under my belt, I felt ready to pursue my dream of owning a food truck.

I’m grateful for the people who helped me along the way and for the God who has been my constant source of strength and guidance. The transformation I’ve experienced has given me a newfound appreciation for the person I see in the mirror.

Survivors of human trafficking need our help. As individuals or corporations, we can make a difference in their lives, no matter how small our contributions may seem.

Every action counts, from donating funds to organizations that provide shelter and support to raising awareness about the issue. Your donation or contribution could mean access to a safe place to sleep, medical care, education, or a sense of hope.

Let’s make a positive change and show our support for those who need it most.
